Celebrating 51 Years of Motherhood, Style & Sustainability at Clotheshorse Anonymous

This Mother's Day, we're honoring not just moms, but the generations of women who have built, supported, and grown Clotheshorse Anonymous into the community and fashion destination it is today.

Founded in 1974 by Jan Kennedy and Nancy Ungerman, Clotheshorse Anonymous has always been a labor of love, built on resilience, resourcefulness, and a fierce belief in the power of women supporting women. Jan raised her daughter among the rolling racks, teaching her the value of quality, sustainability, and entrepreneurial spirit long before consignment was cool.

Over the past 51 years, we've watched mothers, daughters, grandmothers, and granddaughters walk through our doors, consigning pieces from their own closets, discovering something special to wear, and passing down their sense of style and purpose from one generation to the next. We love to see three generations shop together, each finding something uniquely theirs, yet all connected by shared taste and timeless values. At CHA, we believe in fashion that lasts and stories that matter.

This Mother's Day, we celebrate Jan and every woman who’s helped make Clotheshorse Anonymous a home for sustainable style. Thank you for raising daughters who value conscious fashion and for showing us, year after year, that the best things in life (and in closets) are meant to be shared.
