Happy Thursday, loves! Y'all, I am a wreck today. Today is my girls' last day of school. I've been looking forward to having them home for the summer for months, but now that it's finally here I'm sad, too. I'm sad because it hit me that this will be the last time - for 3 years - that they will be in the same school. I know it shouldn't make me sad, but it does.
I am already missing watching them walk into school holding hands. I'm missing Abby running down the hall to hug "stister" when we pick her up at the end of the day. I just love being a girl mom and love being their mom. We call ourselves the "Cobbs' girls" or the "Ladies of Leaside" (Leaside is our street name), and it's always been us 3. I feel like this is the end of an era and our little squad is getting broken up. I know I'll grow into the new normal, but today I'm sad, haha.
How many of you have a cocktail party this summer? Or a wedding? Or a shower? I'm guessing we all have some sort of event. In the past I've typically stocked up on some staple dresses like this one and this one, to rotate from event to event. But this year, I'm trying something new - jumpsuits for cocktail parties!
I don't know why, but I've typically considered jumpsuits a casual thing. However, I saw this Trina Turk jumpsuit at Clotheshorse Anonymous a couple weeks back and was all about it. The sleek lines, the v-neck with zipper detail, the pockets, and the color of course! It also reminded me of Diane Keaton, my muse, so I couldn't pass it up.
Since this jumpsuit is a bit nicer than my other jumpsuits, I had to figure out where I would wear it. I decided a nice jumpsuit would be a great alternative to a cocktail dress. If you're going to opt for a jumpsuit for a nicer event, I would recommending styling it a bit differently than a day outfit. For example, I paired this jumpsuit with nicer jewelry, a more polished bag, and classic shoes. I paired it with flats, but you could most definitely pair it with pumps.
